I went up to Powell river to visit family. I got up there on Saturday and of couse packed my rod. I was looking for a few new spots to fish and asked on of the locals. He let me in on a secret spot of which he called the Log Jam. One man was out there hopping from log to log just dropping his line to the bottom. I started of with float fishing but it was very hard because there wasnt much room to cast... The log hopper gave me a tip and told me to keep it a foot off the bottom. All of a sudden
Fish after fish after fish... I must have caught atleast 30 in about 2 hours. It was ridiculous. The smallest one was about a pound. He told me that he stopped using powerbait at this spot because its no fun catching them so easily... Apparently he thinks that the trout use the logs as shelter. Truthfully it isnt the most techinqued spot as you can only let your line straight down... But having said that it was fun to sit there and try new methods....I mixed and matched some lures and saw what was working....
anyways great time.
I also stumbled across one of the prawn packing plants.... Wow.. I spoke with one of the young guys working there.. Long hours but big bucks.....
I have pics of some of the trout but i took them with my camera phone... they didnt turn on to well but if someone knows how to ge them off my Razor and onto the computer i will post them...
THanks
