So, woke up early, got my gear ready and headed out the door for my favorite Sturgeon spot!! Got there, the tide was ok, baited up, cast out and 5 min later, mother nature was calling!!
It was number 2!! Crap!
So, packed everything back up, and went and did my business at the closet gas station!!
When I got back, went through the whole process again, and waited. Bout a half hr later, I see this little otter coming towards the peir, so I get out the camera, not wanting to miss a close-up photo op, sneak over to the side of the peir, and get the hell scared out of me as I crawl over and take a look over the edge!! The little buggar had climbed up the side of the dock, and was looking me right in the face, he chirped, I yelled and we both took off!!!
Quite the heart start!! So when I finally turn around to take a look at my rod, I notice that it is going crazy!!
So I run over, pick it up, wait to see if he is still there, and wouldn't you know it, he is!! So after a short battle, I have a 2 footer or so splashing around in front of me, so I pick up the camera that I had sat down beside me and snap a pic!!
About 20 min later, the rod is going off again, another samlll one of about 2.5 feet. So, I finally got my first Sturgeon of the year, and I think I just might start putting some more time in!!
