Capilano Rescue today - Global news
« on: July 02, 2006, 08:51:46 PM »

Surprised no one has posted about this yet.  Another one of Vancouver's "finest" had to be carried up the rocks because they were too faced to do so on their own.  Takes up valuable police, ambulance and fire service time to do so and the best part was how they showed their own gratitude by flipping the camera crew.

GoldHammeredCroc was being facetious. ;) Nice way of showing one's gratitude to the North Shore Rescue who risked their lives to save his drunken my friend :( ::)

Nothing good ever comes from drinking on the river. As funny as drunk people can be, it kinda pisses me off when people don't have common sense/courtesy when fishing.

When I watched Global this morning, at least they named the dude.  So at least people can get on his case and embarass him.

Not true some of my best memories are from camping near a river and having a few. ;)

Does anyone have a link to the story? Was the guy fishing or just taking in the sun?

He was not fishing but was drinking. From the news clip it appears to be around Keith Road.

i dont get the "rescue" part.....its been very warm at nights, the guy didnt fall in did he?  they should have just left him down there to sober up and climb out on his own....stupid idiot...

Im in the "dont drink alcohol near water" school of thought....my dads friend died drinking out on elk lake in victoria (while fishing).  Total disrespect for the power that water has to kill.

Its hard not to think that the human race is weakening (genetically speaking)...I am one who thinks that every chance that we can let mother nature kull one of the less desirable specimens from the gene pool...WE SHOULD LET HER!   ;D
