Gooey, yeah that was me. i was at the bottom there when the rafters came down. and yeah i lost two at allison yesterday but it seemed to be really slow, did you have any luck at all?

Buck, I don't disagree with you, one tuesday evening I would guess I had 50 fish in the run infront of me, they were jumping at the head, the tail, in the middle...all friggin over the place!!!  But not a single bite.  Next morning was the same thing...lots of fish showing but only one flossed spring.

The springs are there, they just aren't biting.

And FMS...no we didnt have any luck on the vedder, I did how ever hit 2 springs on a different river  ;)  8)

Would love to get out to the Veddar with someone who knows the river good . Never really tried it spent 6 hours max out there . Found it to be really crowded fished the Allison pool and a couple spots  just up from the highway off some dyke not the canal it was slower water deeper pools . Went out with a buddie who spends lots of time out there.

patience will prevail. dont give up sooner or later those springs will bite . but when is anyones guess. they are in there. going up this weekend hopefully they will start to get more friskier by then tight lines and good luck to all ;D ;D 8) 8)

The fish we were fishing have been POUNDED, the traffic on the river mid week was nutty and the weekend wont get any better.  I saw one fish landed that has wounds from being snagged, these fish learn (and fast) so I think at this point in the season with this amount of preasure, you are in for a uphill battle.

I think I will start focusing on the lower end, trying to get some fresh fish that are just moving in.  These fish should be more active, and wont have been so conditioned.

DFO should be out fining people who are caught snagging... I remember back in the day a fisher could have all gear and vehicle taken away for being caught snagging steelhead, so a new hard line against these individuals is necessary...

These springs could be caught if they weren't pounded by hooks ripping though their holding water... Heck, they could even be hooked on the fly, if they were given a chance...

Had a look from the top of KWB this evening  and  saw one spring and about 20 sockeyes. Poor fish were being flogged. Why is everybody fishing 6 feet of float in two feet of water??

DFO should fine people who are snagging fish, only DFO are never around.

Exactly, it's extremely frustrating to call in the violation and nothing is ever done. A couple of years ago I called in a violator at the mouth of the Seymour for snagging and exceeding his limit. The guy who answered the phone asked whether I can provide the car licence. I replied that I can't because I'm fishing on the opposite side of the river. His response was "too bad, we can't do anything about it"  ???

why? because one guy does it, he catches a fish, so everyone does it :)  you have to realize that those people aren't fishin for fun, they are fishing for DINNER! well maybe some fun is involved...

We only hae around 150 fisheries officers in all B.C. so that is why they are never around. We need more recruites. Fish&Wildlife Conservation Program is at B.C.I.T. if anyone is interested? It is 2 years full time school.

Makes no difference to me why they are out there, not even if they were fishing for a cure for cancer! Maybe a few lost vehicles would send a message...

Anyone out there fishing for food as a focus is in the wrong business... Sprtfishing is more expensive than most methods of buying fish (read $10 from the natives, or $20 from superstore)... Meat fishers should stick to sockeye, that's where they belong.
