Fraser River July 18
« on: July 19, 2006, 03:43:43 PM »

Headed out for an evening fish . Launched at Haney headed up to bottom of Matsqui Island to one of my favorite spots for Sturgeon . Hooked up with my loaner anchor and were fishing by 5 pm . Tossed out the gear and sat back 10 min goes by and a 5 footer jumps 30 yrds behind the boat this was a promissing site. Sat there for 2 hours notta . So we moved every 20 mins after that working our way back to Haney. Seen 3 more Sturgeon jump and a couple of decent Springs also a pack of 12 seals chasing salmon making them jump trying to escape . The salmon appeared to be Sox to small to be Chinooks .Nice nite to be out seen lots of cool things but no luck for us .

Seal sushi - I bet there's a market for it here in the Lower Mainland somewhere.

Other than that - nice underwear material for Steelhead fishing in Breathable waders.

If their real fatty you could probably make a car run on the oil. And make a some nice riding chaps as well.

Spoke to a guy on the bar today and he told me back in the day, they actually had a bounty on seals in pitt lake, stave, fraser, etc ...$25 buck for every nose you brought back in!?!?!

Screw the seal hunt on the east coast, bring those guys over to the fraser and the cap and let get things cleaned up right proper!

Back to a fishing report. Opps posted this on the wrong date as today is the 19th. Too much sun today I guess.

Spent 13 hours today,July the 19 on Maple Leaf #2 bar. ;D ;D

Brother in law lost one at the beach, held it too tight and pulled the hook out. ???

Last time he was out with me he lost another as he held it too loose and the hook fell out. ;D >:(

The moral of the story is, pass me the rod Tony as I have not had a bite in the last 30 hours of bar fishing. ::) ;D ;D

Dean had one on also. We were sitting in our lawn chairs and off goes his rod. He bolts from his lawn chair, trips on a pile of rocks left by BS where he was fishing a few days ago. ???

Dean does a complete somersault on the bar but comes up with the rod from his knees and sets the hook.

Fish is on for 30 more seconds before it falls off. ??? Moral of this story, do not fish near a pile of rocks. ;D

The good news of the day "The Master's" crew got 3 nice fish at another location. Top fish around 22 pounds. The moral of this story, I better go fishing with "The Master"

One of the shortest journals ever, I guess. :o ???
