Galiano Island Fishing Info
« on: July 22, 2006, 11:50:20 PM »

Hi. I'm going to Galiano Island with my family for a week in August.  Just  wondering if anybody have some fishing information about the island.

Ling cod are open in some spots, they have a size minimum of 65 cm which is pretty easy to catch now after the closure.Bring your prawn and crab traps.

Thanks Troutbreath. I would definitely go crabbing. Where is the crabbing site?  Forgot to tell you that I'm more interested in shore fishing since I don't a have a boat.

I fished off of Montague Harbour park when I went bike camping there once. Place is on fire i hear. Here's a link to the island.  http://www.galianoisland.com/maps.php    A boat is definitely an asset there as the crab trap might be hard to get out to better spots but heck if your on holiday you might as well try.
