Sunshine coast (quarry bay)
« on: August 14, 2006, 08:40:17 PM »

Well our family and grandparents went to the cabin for a week to do some ocean fishing, Alot different than river fishing, took me a little while to get in the groove, We were targeting Ling cod and snapper, The first day was a little slow, Hooking into 0 ling cod, just lots of small quil back. however second day, we found a nice reef and fished the drop off, Here we landed a 7-8 lingcod throught the week and a few beautiful greenlings,  Later on we decided to switch it up and head into the deaper the water, fished in about 200 feet of water and right away boated a nice 3lb snapper, Action kept steading at this location producing snappers and lings, however on the last day we landed many mud sharks.  We also dropped a prawn trap in about 375 feet of water and had a prawn feast ever night, averaging 30-40 prawns per pull. Overall it was a great relaxing holiday, Now i cant wait to get back to the river!!, Will post pics soon

Roe Kid, you really need to get a better camera. Those pics looks like they were taken through a cell phone.

I'd have to agree with most of you, those are some damn ugly fish.  But I do like cod if it's smothered in beer batter and deep fried.   Mmmmmm
