Tidal Fraser River August 15th -The shrimps slayed them
« on: August 15, 2006, 03:15:22 PM »

After arriving home late from the T last night, we were on the flow again this morning with a bunch of kids who were trying out fishing for the first time in their life. :) Float fishing only lasted for awhile around 10am as the tide started to head out around 10:30am. Float fishing on the Tidal Fraser during the outgoing tide is never very good as the current usually carries the small float away too fast. We eventually switched to a bottom rig, which consists of a hook dangling several inches above a fixed weight. This rig works well for any coarse fish, which typically swim and rest on the bottom.

Dough did not produce as well today, but the bite was on when the bait was switched to deli shrimps. ;D

Here is a closer look of today's catches before they were released back into the flow. ;)
