Well My self and stinkytroutboy , made our way tothe river early this mornin, to find, Bigsteel, gt, Biffchan, fishfreak, fishinaddict, already at the river, Fishfreak was the first to get his limit, then gt got his two, then handed the rod off twice to big steel, then biffchan got handed the rod twice, and before you know it , it was my turn , so I got handed the rod twice . At around 10:00 the hole crew left with fish however stinkytroutboy did not have his two , 30 mins after they left I see STB's rod bending,  ...snag most likely , Next thing you know the snag is comming in and he beaches a nice 8lb sockeye. HIS FIRST EVER SALMON!! , Then things started to pickup and I was quickly into 3 within 20 mins, and trout boy got handed the rod, and beached one. Overall a decent day on the water, O ya , not thats it important Bigsteel also beached a little 25.5lb Spring early on , Heres some pics

It was  a grand time had by all!!     GT got his fish, Freak got his fish, then at that point, it got all messed up!!  The funny thing is, everyone caught fish, just not there own!!  Oh yeah, I caught my Spring and STB, well it turns out that he caught one of his as well!!       Nice fishing with all you guys again!!

Well, since GT has a family to feed, and I have a fair amount of Spring already, he got it!!  I think that he is going to do some of both!!  When he does smoke some up though, I hope that I am first in line to get some of it!!

Right on guys gald to hear most of you got your limits! nice spring BS! quick question? did you cast out far when you hooked it? every spring i caught on the fraser was when im tired and do a slack cast not to far of the bar.

Absolutely nothing wrong with those two fish. I used to work in a fish cannery when I was attending university. I've seen darker Fraser River sockeyes being canned and they were classified as grade "A"

Does it matter that a fish is colouring? Does that change the taste in some way?

great to hear you all got your fish and very nice spring BS,as always you seem to be the magnate for those bad boys good job.I'll be heading out there this week to try my luck for the springs once again as not to say i don't want any more sox's but now seeing yours i want another one as well.

There are different stocks of sockeyes going up the river at the same time now and some stocks like the Adam run is known to have a green head and a pinkist body. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the meat quality of that stock. They are usually the larger fish also and the big ones are always hooked in the strongest current where springs like to hang. They cannot do so if their body is not strong and vigorous. Nice catch.
