sept 01 sox's
« on: September 01, 2006, 11:11:27 AM »

so  after shift and all excited cause going fishing and not having to work right after for once  ;D thinking I'm going to catch my limit and at least one more spring before i gear up for the coho season, fished from first light till about 8:30am and only managed to land one 7lbs sox and lost one spring, not a whole lot coming out this morning but that's okay as this month long opening has been great  :) our buddy's had a much better morning than the rest of us first, new to fishing our one bud lands his first spring ever on his new set up and our other bud was today's magnet for the springs as he landed two whites both in the 20plus  range and one jack about 4-5lbs so not to bad for season.Lots of people out there this morning trying to get their fill before the shut down till next year and they are alot ruder than ever as tempers are starting to flair, slow day +  alot tangling up due to short casts or long drifts=to a lot of arguing today guys were threating others cause they weren't catching anything almost saw a couple of fights so thank god we left as it's not the place to be heard ton's of racial comments today as well >:(

That is just plain wrong.   Why does it have to get to that?  Good to hear you left and avoided the idiots behaving like morons.   I wonder if someone videoed that to them and played it back to them once they calmed down if they would realize just how stupid and immature they look?

sad... that's why i don't mind driving a little bit further to fish....just not worth it.

fortunately, i had a better day.  caught my limit the first hour of fishing and was surrounded by friendly folks. especially this one kid wearing a coon hat who not only nailed a few nice sox, but also some beauty pike minnow :) ;)

I guess you guys must of been at seabird. The crowd there I found to be alot nicer this year, not that last year was bad or the year before but for some reason I did not hear alot of arguing this year.

i just don't understand why people are so stressed out. this has been a banner year for the recreational fishermen. we've been allowed a month of opening, unlike previous years where we've only averaged 6-9 days. what gives ? ???  i've only gone out 3 times myself, but i'm more than satisfied.

I am in no way stressed out. Unfortunatly there are people on the river that like to yell, threaten and on occasion fight, now these are the people that are stressed out. I definatly enjoyed myself on the river as usual and I always have a  ;D ;D on my face. I always say
"DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF" , life is too short.

The commercial opening on Tuesday should have contributed to the slow fishing at Pegleg. Better time your trip to avoid angry, fishless crowd.  ;D
