Favorite coho fly
« on: September 12, 2006, 09:41:25 AM »

Well now that I have my new fly rod, reel and line already to go I need a little help with choosing the right fly for coho. So I am asking for your HELP. Which is your favorite coho fly and size. Any help will be much appreciated.

x3!

dont be afraid to use a small fly (size 10 normal shank) tied VERY sparsely when they're a little spooky.  I love goooooooold!

next to that would be a variation on a mickey finn with some little tiny stick on eyes with a touch of epoxy.

I dont really have a favorite but those two will be the ones I use most this year.

I here that the "little green monster" is deadly. They tie them up at Hatch matchers in maple ridge. They swear by them.

Sorry I got the name wrong. It is called a little green meany. It has got a black head, silver body with green, and a green tail. Use either a size 8 or 10. You can get them at Hatch Matcher's fly and tackle in Maple Ridge. You have got to ask for them as they keep them behind the counter.

The one I came up with last year "Bite Me". Ask Bwi Bwi how it works.

This coming season my project is to come up with a Steelhead pattern that meets my starndards, using unorthodox materials, so I can thumb my nose at the know-it-alls again; and name my new creation "Who Says".
