Hi everyone,
The Chilliwack River Action Committee will be hosting its 2006
Help Habitat Social Fundraiser on Saturday October 14th at the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club House. Once again, featuring at the event is the
Help Habitat Raffle. The raffle has three prizes:
1st prize - $1,000.00
2nd prize - $500.00
3rd prize - $250.00There are 500 raffle tickets available, so you have a 1 in 500 chance of winning $1,000!
The raffle ticket that you purchase is also your admission ticket to the social fundraiser. This year's social fundraiser will include a free salmon BBQ, live and silent auctions, and of course the raffle draw. You do not have to be at the event to claim the prize money if you purchase a ticket. Tickets are $10.00 each.
October 14th sits at the peak of the Vedder River salmon season! This would be a good opportunity to fish the morning, come out for the delicious salmon BBQ, and maybe go home with some prize money.

Brief background of CRAC The Chilliwack River Action Committee is a community based, volunteer, non profit, umbrella society, made up representatives from local environmental associations and the public with the purpose to organize and administer environmental projects for the protection of the Chilliwack River Watershed. We have an elected Board of Directors and no regular paid staff. We formed in 1997 to deal with the problem of river siltation caused by eroding clay slides. We became a registered BC Society on October 8, 1998 and are now registered with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency and designated as a charitable organization for issuing official income tax receipts. Our mission is to preserve the health and sustainability of the Chilliwack River Watershed and its fish resources for future generations to enjoy.
Why you should purchase a ticket? The money that you spend will go towards restoring habitat on the Vedder River, which will lead to more fishing opportunities in the future! It is a win-win situation.
Where to purchase tickets? Both Chris and I have tickets. I have twenty right now (well, 15, since I've taken 5 of them
). If you are in the Richmond, Vancouver, Delta area, get in touch with me and I'll get a ticket to you etc. If you are in Chilliwack, chase Chris down.
Tickets are also available at stores. I just left 20 tickets with Terry at Reaction Fly and Tackle. Fred's, Chilliwack Dart and Tackle and Hubs also have tickets.
