I don't know if I can do this or not..but I think it's time I changed my handle...It was a year ago this week that I played in my last real golf tournament...Went fishing with my cp buddy, Indian Ronny for pinks and decided to take a couple weeks off...Well that couple weeks has now become a year...My golf shop is now my fly shop...My wife says I come home happy now..even when I don't catch anything....

I have fished all my life, from being a kid out on a little Manistee lake in Northern Michigan to a good portion of my life in the Navy down in San Diego fishing for Bonita's and anything off the kelp beds...This last year it really took with me and I have become an avid fly guy as well as got my first Pin rod and reel yesterday and today...( sage 3113 and Kingfisher )...

I was a decent golfer, not great but got down to scratch and maintained around a one handicap..used to live and breath it as I've always been super competitive in everything I've done..I don't find this with fishing...I'm happy to just be out there...the fishing is secondary and I'm learning that C & R fishin is OK too....not to the point of the holier then thous but to the point if I'm not going to eat it right away I'm just as happy to let it go.

I love the fly tying part of it as that's a hobby in itself but I'm also learning to cure eggs too which is sucks to clean up but for some stupid reason appeals to something in me and I kind of like it..go figure on that one..

So, Rodney If I can, I think it's time to change my handle...I am no longer a golfman...need something new!!! Was considering Big Guns..but well...maybe not,

I put the clubs down for a couple years and when i started again i was doing it for fun.

I dont get beat up if i dont have the great score going.
The beer is allways good and i now live for my Saturday gold game.
If you want to come out and have some fun with a good group of guys just holler.

golfman, golf is fun, I use to play everyday! Down to a nine cap, but was too frustrating always trying to get betteer! Haven't golfed in two years! Wood work, gardening and Fishing are far better because I have something, usually, when I am finished!
