Does anyone here know if Sage Launch rods are any good? They're the cheapest of the Sage rods. Just wondering if they are worth it or are you just buying overpriced rod with the Sage name?

pay a touch more and get an FLi... its better build rod over all.

Pay the same amount that you would spend on the launch and buy a TFO/Echo /Redington you wont be sorry.

All I need to say is UNLIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY........they are good rods.

Sage Launch rods are a bit slow for my liking.  FLI is a bit faster.  It depends on your preference.  Sage has excellent warranty.

Actually I bought a number 7 a short time ago-the warranty is a good point to ponder-I do like the rod although the colour is something that a person either loves or hates.Be sure to check around for the best price if you deceide to buy.I also have 3 Dragonfly Kamloops model rods-a 5wt and 2 6wts-all 10 footers--If I was in the market for another rod I would buy another Dragonfly Kamloops model-They alo have a good warranty program and I do like the 10 ft blank.Only my 0.02 worth

Take a look at as many rods as you can.  Choose the rod you feel you like the best and are comfortable with.  Dont let unconditional warranties decide what rod you choose unless its picking between one or the other.

I bought my fly rod. It's a Scott V2 6 weight 9 foot. I haven't test it on the water yet. It's a medium action rod.

I liked the Sage Fli series a little more than the launch. They have another series one up from the fli that was interesting but out of my price range. Nicest colour rod i've ever seen. vt2 or something i think it was called.

What are you opinions about the Scott V2. Apparently, the only competitor for the Sage Launch is the Scott V2.  The V2 is medium action while the Sage Launch is medium fast. I was told that the V2 is an awesome rod and it's better than some 500 dollar rods from Sage and Winston.  If there's someone I have to comment about the V2 is that it's sturdy, it has a quality feel to it but it lacks soul - kinda like a Toyota.

You have to know how to cast in order to appreciate a good medium action rod...and if you find fault with the V2, it wouldn't be because of the rod.  Basically, there's really no lousy rod out there in the $200 and up category.  All of them are very good for what they are designed to do, and frankly, very few of us, myself included, are really really good enough at casting to tell the difference.  Why do I have several Winston rods in my closet?  Because I've gotten to know and love them, and I stick to what works.

And as someone who loves Land Cruisers and real trucks used in real off road situations, not just gravel travel or mud flinging, I can tell you that there is no soul lacking in Toyota's engineering or design.  Obviously you don't know what you're talking about there...probably a Heep driver.
