Stave River Oct 23
« on: October 23, 2006, 03:23:17 PM »

Fished for five hours landed 12 Chum all on the darker side they were hammering Silver Crocs 2 were foul hooked the rest were in the mouth . Getting bored with all the Chums need a Coho outta the Stave . This river is getting pounded more this year than previous years and all the garbage people are leaving behind makes me sick people have no respect for our waters .

I fished the Stave today as well.  Lots of shum - mostly dark used roe and single jensen eggs.

The inch creek hatchery guys were netting the toilet bowl.  They only got 12 coho on 3 sets, lots of springs though.  There are some coho in there, but the consensus from the hatchery folks was that another couple of weeks or lots of rain before we see some serious numbers.

Hooked a fish yesterday that exploded out of the water, zipped around so fast and was so bright i thought it was a coho. Landed it, realized it was a chum. Seriously that fish was ocean bright. Saw lots of coho, and my buddy got one hatchery. We were fishing by the Trailer Park.

And now you know why we all shake our heads when we see others take those Black Uglies.
