You can buy a material called tulle (sp?) at places like Fabric Land.  Works great for me.

dont worry about the color of the material!!!! The fish are almost blind, man!  Its smell, not color you better worry about-especially if they are your wife's!  ;)

I like using nylons as well but just tie knots as i go instead of tying with thread or spiderwire.

I like the idea of a netting but havent found any that i really liked and tired of the looks you get when you go in and buy fishnet stockings. :-* ;D

The first fish that we hooked on the day is now featured on the Fishy Clip.

That video is really funny and I was there. You missed one part though, after Markos burnt thumb you needed to show the straightened 7/0 Gami. :D. Thanks for the kind words legend I'm glad you have the same bug now I got many years ago I thought it was contagious, now I know.

Well i had a great time fishing that day for sure.. Not against you or anything Ken, but i have to say those hook SUCKS big time....  There is no way we straightened 3 times in 8 hours of fishing ( 2 on fish and 1 on a log...)  Most of the guys that i talked to they all switched to a Mustad live bait hook ( 2X long and 4X heavy) in size 8/0 to 11/0. They are sharper and better then gammi for that kind of appication...

I guess you won't be on our boat next year, you can go on Vic's boat with those big strong Mustad hooks. ;D

Second fishy clip of November is now available with Mark connecting with his first ever sturgeon:

In regards to those hooks I recently swicthed to Mustads as they came with the pre tied leaders. Before that I was using gammies and I would have to say that I prefer the gammies. I seem to have lost more fish since switching and thinking of switching back meaning tying my own leaders now.

I like Vision hooks they have only let me down once and that was a hook that was snagged on the bottom which I bent until it came off and then straighted back out . Sure enough I hook what would of been my record Sturgeon and the hook failed me . Kodiak swivels all the way for mainline to leader and for connecting the weight as well . Have been using the Maxima Big Game leader for years and it has done very well but recently picked up the 72 lb braided sturgeon leader and find it to limp I like the Mono better . On a slack tide the limpness of the braided seems to prevent the bait from floating as the mono is stiff and seems to almost be buoyant keeping the bait slightly suspended off the bottom resulting in more hook ups on the rod rigged with the mono .
