Projections PLace BC Cities Under Water
« on: November 07, 2006, 03:18:48 PM »

Here's an article in today's Tyee that relates to the deluge we experienced in the last few days in the Lower Mainland:

Is it true that in the event of an earthquake much of the lower mainland would "sink" due to liquifaction ???

Richmond is the place that will or could sink a little. because of all the sand it's on top of. I hear it will sink a little anyway when it gets heavier. It's the dykes around it that bother me, as I've seen the water right to the top.

Most of Richmond would except Terra Nova area.  Also parts of Ladner, Tsawassen, Delta, and Iona Is. (YVR).
However, if that does ever happen, it's end of Vancouver economy anyways.

I'm not too worried. You'll come over on your jet boat to rescue me and my cats right? ;D

I'll be sitting nice and warm in my apartment in Copenhagen  ;D  ;D

Then again, if the sea levels really do rise as some scientists have predicted, most of Denmark will disappear....  :-\

Oh well, As thou hast sown, so shalt thou reap!  ;) I guess all Danes could move to Norway or Sweden if that happened, or if all the ice melted on Greenland we could use that big piece of land. We don't have much use of it now as it is  ;D
