Large spots relative to the size of the body.
The spots on the bottom portion of the caudal fin/tail.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one rod.

Chinook in the squamish are early returners ie Aug/Sept

I don't see spots on the lower half of the tail.

I've been through the large spots to body before and it isn't always the case especially with jacks.

Rod,

 Sorry for the delay in responding but I've been away deer hunting. The fish is a coho Jack as the spots are noticbly smaller and less vivid  than a chinook Jack. The timming of the year would also lend it's self to being a coho as the chinook in this system are generally around from late June thru mid September. There is also a extremly small fall run of chinook that hang on until mid October. That said I have seen 6 adult chinook this November but that is not common.

Kelso: the fish your holding in your picture is an dipose clipped coho Jack.

Chrome Mykiss and I had a lengthy discussion on this and he also insisted that it is a coho salmon. I better sharpen up my id skills again...

Coho I think.  Aside from the above mentioned reasons, the jaw shape looks like a coho to me.

I am almost certain it's a Jack coho. Nice fish!

whatever it is its a little piglet, that's for sure...    i want to say coho jack but its so fat i have to say chrome spring jack..a hungry one at that..lol
