Also tried these plastic clips (not shown) instead of split rings that were kind of neat. I think I still like the split rings though.

Never seen two blades on one split ring...interesting idea.  Any reports on its effectiveness?

How did you get the hooks on? did you open up the eye with pliors?

Use Siwash hooks.

Used my fingernails, ouch. Need a pair of split ring pliers. Used Gamakatsu hooks.

A small flat screwdriver works just as well as any pair of split ring pliers.

you can either use open eyed hooks (they come that way) or slide them on a split ring.

Hey Troutbreath, I got the blades off of ebay. I picked up 100 of them for $5.00 or so.

Hey Kelso, one thing I can see that you did incorrectly, the pic of the spoon shows a hook with the point up and the concave belly of the spoon down.  the hook should be mounted the other way, point down.

When you hold a spoon in your hand the concave shape should match the direction of the point of the hook.  My commercial fishing boss taught me that and thats the way all manufacturers put the hooks on their spoons.  I think it has to do with the hook trailing in a better position and providing better hook ups.
