Tell us where you caught it and we'll tell you whether it's a trout or steelhead. ;)

I should add if the fish (which i'm assuming it is here) has access to salt water and is over 24" then it's a steelhead...

Looks like a steely to me.

I guess it would depend which river system it's been caught in e.g. if large resident rainbows are in the systems.  Also, if in smaller rivers, most resident rainbows generally don't get super huge.  That's my impression anyways.

Regardless, it's an Oncorhynchus mykiss ;-)

In the top pic, it looks more like a trout, but the bottomw pic looks a bit more like a Steelhead.  Not sure, but really nice catch regardless!! ;)

Frenchmans creek...  ;D  never expected there to be any sizable trout there.  Its somewhere within 200 km of the tricity area... hows that for specific?

God father fishes the morice and when the rainbows are running they catch some fish pushing 10lbs but they are not steelies.
