Well today I made my first trip to the Vedder of the year and Scouted out a spot for the derby and man was it cold! Fished one spot for about ten minutes and got thumped by the wind. Drove 2 min up the road to a more sheltered area put one cast in and my day was done. Water is still crappy with mabey a foot of vis at best had to fish above to croosing today which sucks but It payed off with 2 pounds of fresh Jam for derby day.

I was up today too..man that wind was an a$$kicker huh??? turned off a bit in the afternoon, water temp. was 36* today, outside temp. was 26*....so that's what's to be expected, nice fish FF...we were two older guys...one fishing a spoon and me, learning poorly.....was surprised about the clarity...well, hopefully this cold will help a little...

ok stupid question time.Seeing that I am not a coffee fan let alone a Tim Horton's fan, What side of the freeway is the Tim Horton's at Lickman road? I usually turn off at the Yarrow exit so I have never been there. Just incase I can make it on sunday and would like to enter this derby.

North side of Hwy 1.

For those who are coming in from Vancouver, take the Lickman Road Exit from Hwy 1. Make a left turn at Lickman Road. Cross the overpass, you should see Tim Horton's and Best Western Hotel on your left at the traffic light.

Just a note to people going to the derby, I'll be bringing 3 or 4 centerpins made by Hope craftsman Don Campbell for sale. If you've got an extra $250.00 in the cookie jar bring it along you might see something you like. I'll see if I can bring acouple with bearings and a couple with bushings. I'm fairly sure one of Don's reels  is gonna land the winning fish. ;D ;D ;D ;D (mine that is)
