drennan floats drying up locally???
« on: December 30, 2006, 03:51:44 PM »

I have been trying to order size 4 and 5 drennan zepplers for my customers for the past 3 months.... pretty much since i took over this position. I have tried every local wholesaler and i have come up with nothing for my efforts. Anyone notice this at your favorite shop..... a dwindling stock of 4 and 5 zepplers... been trying to find a website for the actual company that makes em but.... nadda so far.

what are us poor steelheaders to do???

I think Chris cornered the market on those Drennan floats. ;) Seriously though, try the new DNE floats or just stick with the dinks.

It is true. As good as the dne floats are I still prefer a drennan for steelheading.

most likely just a "time of year" thing. I know most local distributors have invetnory in the fall and stock levels most likely are down becuase of that. Talked to the guys at Berry's BAit about this and that is what they told me. Should be able to get them in another month.

having worked in the industry for a few years, including behind the counter at berry's, I've never seen a year when one could not order these floats. This IS the time when local distributors should have stock, they track product movement just like retail outlets do. Someone has steered me on to the manufacturer in the UK and I'll see about getting them direct..... don't worry.... I'll order LOTS :D

Piker's are better floats anyway. We only have sz5 left. My favs are sz 3 pikers. And your right, all the local distributors are sold right out.

I guess I better go see Randy at Hatch Matcher's  and pick up a couple while he still has some. Don't want to get caught out there with out a drennan.

You should just talk to Chris.  I think he purchased the whole lot of them for himself.   ;D ::)

mruuuhahahaha no more shortages on drennans.... it only took a few days of digging, but our 3 stores will soon (within couple weeks) be stocked with an endless supply of drennans in all the popular sizes. I think i'll have to load up on a few doz just for myself ;D ;D
