Fishing Seminars/Classes
« on: January 13, 2007, 05:04:18 AM »

I took a Fishing course 2 years ago and it was very informative. It was based more towards steelhead and focused on how to fish different types of water. I enjoyed picking up on all the new tips and tricks, which lead me to 2 steelhead that first season. Now I have a buddy getting into the sport, and I thought we should take a fishing course, to boost our confidence. So my question is can anyone recommend a good class with a good instructor who is also well adapted to fishing the merky vedder conditions?

Talk to Peter at Fred's Tackle - he'll take you out and train you right.

I took a class with Jason at Angler West last year and it was awesome. We did not catch a single fish during the class, but after that I hooked 17 fish and landed 7 on my own in march-april... Before that I did not have a single bite(december-february)...
Angler west is closed but Jason is opening a new shop in February (Pacific Angler). I do not know if he will offer a steelhead class this year, but I think this class was my best fishing investment ever...

Check with your local tackle shops. Some offer courses. You can also check with your local school boards. Some offer night school classes on fishing. It's a great way to speed up your learning curve.
