Report for Feb 1st 2007
« on: February 01, 2007, 04:11:36 PM »

Well, I guess I will be first to report.

Got to the river around 9:30 a.m. Spoke to a couple of guys and the report was "SLOW". I did my usual, fish and walk, fish and walk along that stretch but did not touch anything. Walked back up again and found a nice piece of water with about 5 fishermen spread out. The hits started around 11:30 am and I think everyone got into a fish at least. My first fish was a huge Dollie. It fought like a steelie and I swear that this thing was at least 8lbs. I've never seen a Dollie this huge. About 15 minutes after that, I made connection with a nice wild buck. Nice day to be out.

Thanks for the report steelieman, thats a great looking chromer. I'm thinking about heading out tomorrow and try my luck. I went out on Tuesday and hooked into two and lost them both, I could'nt believe it. Tomorrows another day and another kick at the can. Thanks again steelieman.  :) ;) :)

The Vedder has a run of sea going dollies that begin to enter the river in January, and continue through to the end of February. These fish are easily recognizeable be their chrome sides, and obese stature. My largest was around 12lbs., caught in Jan. 99.
I was also fishing the Vedder today. Clarity was around 5-6ft in the lower river, and on the low side, at .85 on the chart. Perfect conditions for swinging flies. The first run I fished a 34 3/8 in. hatchery doe inhaled my 6" Intruder. Needless to say, my day was over early..........

Great job, thanks for the report.  :)  Hopefully we won't get that much rain this weekend and hopefully I will be able to make it out there again this weekend.  But we will see about that!!  I have a lot of bills to pay this weekend!! ::)

Saw you out there today...Was fishing with the President of the S.C. & P club...nice to hit the flow...we walked up and down and fished a lot of river but left the lower before it warmed up obviously...Nice fish...went up top and got some nibbles but that was it..

Here's the Pres. tying up...Had a blast today...only thing missing were some fishies... ;)
