So I am usually never really interested in this show as it is mainly just an excuse for Hollywood to honk its own horn, but tonight is special for me because there is a Danish movie nominated for best foreign-language film. 

After the Wedding

It looks really good and I can’t wait to see it. It’s already out in the Danish cinemas but I haven’t had time to see it yet.

The funny thing is it is up against a Canadian movie “Water” (although I would hardly call Canadian a foreign language, but hey, those Americans….)    

I'm crossing my fingers for the Danish movie, but my money is on the German "The lives of Others".

I could care less about the Academy Awards. It has absolutely no impact on my life. I'm sure we're going to hear about who's dating who, who's wearing what designer clothes and who has the best post Awards party etc, etc, etc. in the next few days.

To each his own 

I’m only interested in the foreign movies as they are, in my opinion, much better than any American produced movies. 

Well, congratulations to the Germans. They have really picked up the pace lately and have produced some good movies the last few years. The Danish movies will still be my favorite though
