alouette lake
« on: April 14, 2007, 08:06:51 PM »

So my sister in law just bought a place beside alouette lake... i was looking at takeing her little guy fishing but we have no boat... I have never been to Alouette and was wondering if anyone can help me with some questions...

Is it worth fishing from shore.. I was planning on doing the float and ship thing or dew worm for the little guy....

how is the shore access.. i dont want the little guy to get in any tough spots but at the same time i am not going to fish from a beach...

is it better to take him to the river and fih from there.....

do i need a boat badly .. (is it a waste from shore)

thanks wants to keep it private please email it to me....i just   i just dont want to take the little guy fishing and have him have a bad expierence.

My $0.02:  Alouette is a BIG lake.  I find shore casting in BIG lakes is always a bit of a crap shoot unless you know you have decent structure where you're casting.   I think it will take you a while (many outings) to get the "feel" of the area around the new property before you should even consider taking the little nipper along.

Good Luck!

Since you're in Maple Ridge why not try bass fishing in one of the sloughs?  At least you have better chance than the big lake.

If you are shore fishing take him to Mike Lake which is in Golden Ears.

When you enter through the gates to Golden Ears its half way to the Alouette lake. Their is a sign to turn off up to Mike Lake.

I was up at Alouette today. My advice is to lock up your vehicle and take all your belongings with you. I got my truck broken into at Alouette today. I left my IPOD in my truck in my glove box as I forgot to take it out and they stole it as well as the change in my ashtray. As well they broke my glove box as I had it locked.

I'll echo what BB said about the vehicle...last time I was there my wallet was not stolen (but rummaged through) they were smart enough to leave the wallet but just take my Credit Cards....I didn't notice untill the next day when i went to use one.  By then they racked it up...lucky for me Visa was co-operative and reversed unauthorized charges.....but don't take any chances.  I was STUPID enough to leave my wallet in the vehicle (under the seat....but still)   won't do that again!

From Mike you can kinda see your vehicle. I am just glad they didnt do more damage to my vehicle. All my insurance papers were still in there so thats good. I am not letting it ruin a great day. I partly blame myself for leaving something in the truck of value. I can always replace an IPOD.

Hey Bryan, isn't our world a sad place when we blame ourselves for a break in?  (leaving something of value in a vehicle)  Since when were we the ones that did something wrong eh?   Bloody crooks!

We live in a society where this is reality. I should have been smarter than that. I wish I could leave my doors unlocked and never have to worry about anything but its just not the case. It is sad but its better to blame yourself, not get mad and just move on. Nothing I can do about it so I am not going to dwell on it.

A very mature and good attidude.   Kudos to you.  I'll admit I was PISSED when I found out my CC's were stolen, but it all worked out in the end and took me a bit longer to get to the place where you are.   A sad, but true reality we live in eh.

Sad state the society's in.  Today my daughter asked me what is fire engine for... A: put out fires.   What's ambulance for... A: transport patients in emergency.   What's police for.....A: Causing traffic jams, getting scared by crooks (bad experience before).
