Who wants to go try for Springs tomorrow?

I'm going to go out and bounce for a Spring tomorrow morning. Is anyone interested in comming along?

I'll be leaving Abbotsford fairly early.

I just hate those big logs - they spool ya pretty easy.

I hope I can get some bouncing in for Springs before the Sockeye start coming in.

fishforever - I think it's too early to start trolling but you never know there could be a few at the mouth of the Vedder. I'm going to do more of that this year as well.

Try throwin some kohos at the mouth of emory. Always room and the springs stack in there every year in mid may so there might be some now.

That's right. That crik is usually clean enough to draw Springs close in. I tried to bar fish there once - it was too expensive for me to fish there.

I'm going to go out for a few hours in the morning - check out as few spots and try out my new Technium rod.

I have the 10' one and love it so far... which one do you have?  MInd you I also have the Sturgeon technium, I am very inpressed by them so far.  Looking forward to getting to the 10' out on the Vedder for Springs.  The reds that is.... ;D

I picked up the 11'er for early bouncing. I broke too many rods last year including a Trophy XL and the Red Shimano Clearwater, 2 Convergence and a Diawa Heartland. Just being a bit too agressive and careless on and around the boats.  ::)

Yeah Emory creek is a very good spot for early Chinook Salmon. It is too rocky on the bottom to bar fish, but i find if you attach a koho spoon(the medium size) and put on a dink or DNA float(whatever you would like) and cast it out into the Fraser where Emory's clear water comes in you will be successful. Especially in the high water the Fraser water will have undertow that will spin the spoon around like a hurt herring, smelt or any type of fish that will remind the salmon of its early life in the ocean. It is a great spot especially on a warm day! I suggest to try it out at least once this early spring summer!

Interesting - I'll give it a try sometime. I love that direct hook-up without any extra weight. I've nailed a few Springs rattling large spoons off the bottom at Peg Leg and at Laidlaw in years past but I think that's virtually the same as bottom bouncing.
