Lafarge Guru Gittin r' Done
« on: May 09, 2007, 10:26:25 PM »

Got to the lake around 5.30 and started trolling around until it became too windy to even bother going across the lake, so i stayed in a little bay and strated strip casting. Every other cast I'd get a fish. It was fish after fish after. All fish were 12-14inches. I then went back to shore for a break, then headed back out to the other side of the lake where i would go on to catch twice as many. It was absolutley nuts. Didnt matter if it was strip casting or trolling, the fish were hitting. The fly I used was a creation i thought up a few months ago, and it's all I use in the local lakes now.

Anyways, excellent day, even in the wind.

Largest fish of the day was 15.5 inches (first fish on top) All thje other fish were 12.5inches and over

Tight Loops,

I dont have a clue in the world how you think thats a hero shot. I went out fishing, I caught fish, and I posted a pictue of my fish. Why do u have a problem with that. You seem to be the only one to complain all the time. I don't care what you or other people say, I could really care less. ;)

A trout is a trout, some fight better than others and some taste better than others but its better than going to empty handed.

no real problem with it, though its a`real hard thing to be a guru at catching hatchery raised fish who are starved before release. i can`see you dont care what people think or your sig wouldnt have 2 hand offs in it

Obviously the term "Lafarge Guru" used by Cody is a humorous take of the whole situation, not to be taken too seriously. Cody wouldn't self-proclaim that he is a all-round fishing guru, the term is used since others have acknowledged the fact that he seems to catch much more fish in Lafarge Lake than other anglers. If there is a problem with that, then some lightening up maybe needed to loosen a few knots.

I often forward Cody's Lafarge reports to the hatchery staff who are always interested to see results after their work. Small urban fisheries such as this are designed to accommodate youngsters who are unable to travel far. There's no shame in participating in it, catching and killing a few fish, and reporting the success. Personally I would like to see myself out there if these lakes are closer to me.

No one should also be hassled for having "hero" shots. I certainly enjoy seeing them. Cody does a good job by enjoying all fisheries instead of limiting himself to just a couple of species that some regard as more superior than others. He's friendly and always keen to help others who need assistance. What more can you ask him for?

Nice catches Cody, hopefully tomorrow I'll be doing the same. ;)

I dont know why I see people picking on the kids here. Kids are our future adult anglers and encouraging them is what we should be doing not discouraging them. Cody you keep it up, I love to see how you are into it all, from drfit fishing to fly fishing you do it all. Dont listen to guys like Kingpin as I dont even remember reading any of his reports. Maybe he is just jealous you are out fishing while he is out doing nothing.
