Rice Lake - Father's Day
« on: June 18, 2007, 11:51:30 AM »

So, I took my kids & my Dad to catch a few trouts. Wow, what a crowd.

I figure I can't lose after the restocking. Boy, was I wrong.  :-[ I showed them how to put the worm on & teach them on watching the float. I wanted so bad to get one on my kids rod.  Everyone else around me's just catching one after another. I ended up with nothing even after I saw my kids' float go down 3X.

Then, I see Rod & his friend. Caught 2 right off the back, then gave them to my kids.
Thanks Rod, you made their day. ;) It's always good to see you.

Nice seeing you again, glad to provide some excitement for the kids too. ;D

Make sure you cast to that secret corner next time. ;D Erin must have had around 7 or 8 bites, only hooked two fish because she wasn't looking at the float when the other ones bit. ::) Try a skinnier float, or even use a strike indicator that flyfishermen use. A few years ago, Marco used a strike indicator on the spinning rod and simply dropped it down beside the pier, he caught quite a few fish that way.

We hope to see you at Fish for the Future. :)

a strike indicator is like a very small small bobber that fly fishers use when fishing certain ways. ex chironomid fishing.
