I am new to the site and i enjoy it a lot. thanks for offering such helpful and informative alternative.
My name is Andrew, i live in Vancouver.  Migrated to Canada 13 years ago from Malaysia.  I used to go fishing for Tilapia when i was in malaysia, that fish is as popular as trout here in n.america.  Fishing has been my hobby since i was small, but i still fish like a beginner nowadays...    I am once again addicted to this sport this year, and i have been fishing a lot lately too.. mostly coarse fishing though.  Hm... i love to steam the trouts i catch with ginger and onion, the soles with black bean sauce.. yummy!  deep fried the catfish fillets and rockcods!  my favourite fish species is Kokanee, but the fish i love to fish for is steelhead.  My favourite fishing spots now is Buntzen lake and ambleside pier for tidal water.  I really wanna go into the big league with the big boys, fishing for salmon and sturgies! hopefully i would learn more from u all here. Thanks!

Hey gang the names Paul , long time lurker first time poster , 26 yrs old , born and raised in the lower mainland fished for about 10 years now and still have never hooked a steely !! elusive buggers ! hooked many coho , springs , socks , trout etc.. love all types of fishing from boat to bar to  balls deep in the Fraser , weapon of choice these days is a Fenwick hmx 10'6" med-heavy and i still like the abu c-4 as it hasnt let me down ,most favorite time of year is here pretty much breakin out the river rod for those after work mini-trips to the valley for those tasty sockeye...2hrs of drivin for 2hrs of fishin for hopefully 2 fish... but worth every cent in gas!!! Good luck all on another salmon season ,looking forward to more posts , love the site Rod as it truly has been successful in providing useful knowledge of conservation importance and awareness in my life as well as many others im sure while at the same time helping your average joe have some fun with his kids enjoy nature and hook a couple fish ... well done
