Hi there, my name is Joseph(chromesteel4), I've been reading this website for a couple months now and have really liked all the pictures that have been shown lately. I'm pretty new to steelheading(2 years now) and am hoping to tie into my first this year.

Hi!

All my friends call me Loki, I am new to Vancouver Island and am slowly trying to compete with all the great rivers and lakes to see if they will let me snag a fish or two.  Any hints, tips or advice is more than welcome.
Nice to meet all of you!

I've been told "you just can't fish all the time...". I think I have proved them wrong. Starting as a kid, at the age of four, I fished for fun... as a teen, I fished to stay out of trouble... as a college/university student, I fished to stay sane. For the past 17 years, I have fished for a living.

Name: Ray Carson
Age: 41
Birthday: Oct 26
Language Spoken: English
Residence: Pitt Meadows
Marital Status: Hooked & Landed with a 2 month old daughter (can't wait to buy her first fly rod!!)
Favorite food: BBQ of any sort
Favorite fish species: super hard question.... Rainbow Trout because of their beauty and diversity
Favorite fish species for fishing: Steelhead - so hard to catch but is there a better fresh water game fish??
Favorite river: Upper Pitt River - Close and so amazing to fish year round
Misc: I love fishing but hate crowds. For me it is about the total experience and the wilderness and tranquility are a big part of it. I'm 99.5% catch & release but don't judge those who choose to keep a few. I'll keep a super clean Sockeye or two and a few doe Chums for bait and roe each year. I love fishing big game in the tropics but don't get there often so in my quest for big fish I discovered Sturgeon fishing a couple years ago....awesome! Cheers, Ray.

name: chris
age: 29
from: vancouver island. i have been living here for about 5 years
other: living here on the mainland i never realized that there is so much fishing here, i never expected to be able to catch salmon so close to home (fraser). and now i really have the bug to start fishin the rivers and lakes. i grew up loving the out doors. the only problem is that i have no idea where to fish and how to fish the areas, im not here to scam secrets, im just here to get some knowlege to start.
fishin the fraser: i started 2 years ago when a buddy took me out to fish sturgeon and pinks, since then i have been hooked...........parden the pun ;D.
i've had pretty good luck fishing for sockey last summer, and am looking forward to doing it again.
future plans: well... i'de like to start trying fly fishing and try some of the more secluded lakes and rivers

Favorite food:im not picky
Favorite fish species: piranha serrasalmus type
Favorite fish species for fishing: flounder

Other misc. inf :  I've been fishing the docks of the lower mainland and rarely fish from boats.  I hate crowds too but love it when kids run up to you to see you pull some fishy or crab in.  I've had great experience meeting a variety of people while fishing various docks and piers around the area and i think that is one of the best experience when it comes to fishing.
