My name is Peter McMullan and I post under the byline Petermac.I live in Nanaimo, fish salt and fresh water all over BC and write on fishing-related topics for a number of
publlcations  both here in B.C. and in Europe. For the rest of it, I  am in my mid-70s, started fishing in Ireland when I was 10, discovered fly fishing for Atlantic salmon in my early teens and never looked back. Passion above all passions has to be Skeena system steelhead on a floating line followed by brown or rainbow trout on a dry fly and big chinook any way I can hook them. Boat is a 14' centre consul Lifetimer and truck to wow it is a  Ford Explorer. Married with two sons in their 40s and three grandkids including two boys who  can't wait to start fishing. That's more thah enough,  Let's go foshing.

Hi there! I am a displaced British Columbian currently residing in Beaumont Alberta, just outside of Edmonton. I was born and raised on Vancouver Island, left in 1980 at the age of 23 and moved to Fort St John. Spent 23 years fishing and hunting there and then moved to Edmonton area to be closer to Universities etc. for my kids. Every time I tried to move back to the Island I went further east. Maybe one day.....
My fishing experience ranged from good old spin tackle, heavy trolling, to pretty much all flyfishing with a bit of plastic chucking for walleye and the odd pike.
I am also President of Project Healing Waters Canada, a newly formed organization that uses flyfishing and fly tying to help our wounded Veterans find some healing both physical and mental. While we also welcome individuals from any Canadian police force, Firefighting Dep't, Emergency medical Service workers and Brain trauma victims we do focus on the military personnel.
Our website will be up soon and we are just a couple of weeks away from being Incorporated and Insured so we can support clubs that wish to hold their own PHWC programs.
There is lots more to say about it but this post is long enough already.
I recognize some names here and hope to meet more of you as time allows. There is alot of good information and good camaradarie here I believe. Keep up the great work folks, see you around...... :)

46 year old married father of two kids
- live in North Van
- Don't get out fishing as much as I used to.  Lived in Richmond as a kid and young adult, so most of my fishing was on the Fraser.  Trying to learn the Cap as I live in North Van now.   Love the Cariboo and Merrit area lakes....slowly learning how to fly fish.

Great website - Thanks to all for sharing info and tips. have learned a lot from you all.

We have hundreds kind of fishes over there.
Some of the famous are Ruhu, Hilsa, Putty, Koi, Katla, Boal, Taki, Shole, Mrigel .... a lot.

2008 was my first introduce to Salmon. I love the fight.
2009, I am exploring with trout.

I love fishing, my wife love cooking fish and my son love to eat them. Perfect match.

Anyway I am dreaming to catch the best salmon this year too.
