Age 71
Married
Live in Washington State
Fish caught: Atlantic salmon, steelhead, cutthroat rainbow and brown trout, roach, rudd, bream, perch, tench, dace, chub, mirror carp, king carp and lastly pikeminnow.
Fished many English rivers and lakes, many canals and rivers in Holland and now starting to fish Lake Chelan in Washington State.
The last fish I caught was a  4.0 pound pikeminnow. I have only just found out what this species was after exploring the internet.
This fish took me quite a while to surface after many deep boring powerful runs in 25 feet of water.
I cannot believe this species has a bad reputation for not fighting.
15 minutes earlier I had landed a 3.0 pound rainbow that gave splendid leaps at the 60 yard range but a completely different fight to the pikeminnow.
That day I had caught 5 fish in 2.5 hours (.5 hour in landing 2 of the fish)
Method of fishing was to troll a sink line with a wet fly of my own making.
The previous day caught 10 rainbows in 2 hours with the same technique

Hi Ladies & Gents,

I am 58, one son, three grandkids and grew up (so to speak) fishing the salt chuck in Victoria.  Moved in the early 70's so fishing became somewhat limited. Later in the early 90's, got back into it, but boating costs, lack of fish etc discouraged me.  I turned the the other vise...golf, but find a need to get back on or near the water.  I have never been a river or lake fisherman, but the interest is certainly there.  Managed to find a half a dozen sockeye this summer and really enjoyed it. Hoping to learn some things on this site and with these forums and look forward to each new season.

I used to fish before I got hitched and produced offspring. Now that the kids are old enough I've rediscovered my passion, and am now trying to pass it on. :) It's an adventure.... but time away from Mom is a good thing! :D
