Hey. My name is Brett. Originally from Ontario, but moved to Vancouver this past year for school. My fishing knowledge is limited, but definitely interested in learning. Just love getting out and putting a rod in the water. Hope the forums can help me learn some techniques and help with what tackle (rigs) to use. Heard about this site from Pacific Angler.

New to fishing the Fraser. Been fishing lakes since i was a kid and figured this is as good a year as any to try and expand my limited skills. My friend told me about this site and it seems to be filled with a vast amount of knowledge and experience. Hopefully i can learn a few things from the pro's on here and catch some good fish this year.
Thanks in advance.

I'm from lousiana and moved up to vancouver a couple years ago for grad school at ubc.  Last year I got into fishing the stocked lakes around the city but this year I'm looking to expand some and start hitting the local rivers and giving a go at some salmon fishing.

Residence: Guildford B.C

Favorite food: Salt, Asparagus, Onion, Salmon, Lamb,

Favorite fish species: Sturgeon (cause they are very WTF to me at this point in my angling career)

Favorite fish species for fishing: Rainbow Trout cause thats all Ive fished yet

Favorite river: Vedder River (The only river Ive really been on, and never fished it. But its gorgeous)

Other misc. info What a question! I could fill this out for hours upon hours. I guess relating to this forum. I seek knowledge about everything. Lately Ive gotten into fishing. Ive done so up at Murray Lake when I was 3-5 years old, but I have only pictures as memories. But Ive spent a lot of time on water and in bush with my grandfather, who would also be the only male role model I had. As such, I take after him, and he was a bushman (worked on the Coq when it was built too!) Recently, like a lot of decisions by guys, my woman made me start this. She has never fished, so I went out and got what we needed, and we went to it. First trip to green timbers was bust, then I realized I wasnt fly fishing with my spinning rod, and to just chill out. Second trip out, I caught 2 rainbows and she caught 1. Was a great day. Forget what it felt like when the fish bit, cause auto pilot took over. I know what I felt like afterwards though! I hooked a fish, but he also hooked me. SUPER CORNY! Sorta true.

Thanks for reading!

Umm Hi. - My name is Andrea.
I am in all honesty not a fisherman/woman.  ;D  I joined this site as it seemed that this forum appeared the most active in my searching for fishing info in the Fraser Valley.   :D
My main goal is to make sure we work together at the Island 22 Boat Launch site in Chilliwack.
I am the secretary of the horse park across from the boat launch.
90% of the year the fishermen and the horses get along really well. We (the fishing groups and the Island22 Society) always seem to be on the same table with FVRD in terms of many issues at the park and in that way we have worked great together.
We hold a couple of large events at the park per year and this is the only time we seem to overlap. We have also been very lucky to be on site with our event medics when there have been some scary incidents with fishing accidents - a massive coronary and a major bee sting reaction are the two main ones I know of.

I run the Island 22 horse park website and I have created a page on there just for you as I seem to have a large number of fishermen searching my site for launch info. I try to keep it as up to date as possible.

http://www.island22horsepark.com/fishingatisland22.htm

I am going to start a thread just to fill you in so there are no grumblings at some of our big events as parking tends to be a MAJOR issue at them.

Thanks all and hope to see you at the park!!
