Brian, retired, recently relocated to Chilliwack  from Okanagan. Looking forward to Vedder River Salmon as a newbie no doubt

Reading certain posts feel reluctant to trout fish April, May ie steelhead smolts, wild hatchery trout? I do like to eat pan fried trout. Life has become complicated.

Enjoy this site, very informative video tutorials

Name: Joseph

Live in Surrey, got into fishing because of my Dad and Grandpa.
Moved to BC 3 years ago and started fishing 2 years ago - hooked ever since. Used to fish in my home country long time ago.

I have caught Coho, Chum, pike, peamouth, sculpin, coastal cutthroat, rainbow trout, pumpkinseed sunfish, crappie, smallmouth and largemouth bass, bluegill - on fraser river !! lol.

I am now targeting mountain whitefish but unsuccessful so far !! - During salmon season I am aiming to catch pink and chinook. I wanted to try boat fishing for halibut and chinook but damn its expensive - maybe one day when I win a lottery lol

I usually travel to Stave, Deer lake, fraser river (coarse fishing), Vedder during salmon season.

Nice helpful community here - looking forward to many more fishing adventures

Yeah I had a lot of problems with registration on the forum for a long time and couldn't really take care of it because I'm too busy with my video productions, then just fixed it recently. Good to see many have signed up since. Welcome. :)

Hey Joseph,

My grandpa taught me when I was about 4 to fish
Wish they fished more growing up!
Lots to choose from out here, and all kinds of ways to catch em all!
Haven't had fun with bass of yet..

Fishing lodges are expensive but the experience in the nature is priceless and everyone should do it at least once!
I want to go back!

Looking forward to being in this community as I am no stranger to it but nice to be able to chat it up on here now!

Hey Lexi, My grandpa taught me too - Good ol' memories
Yup lots of ways to catch em and I am learning them slowly.

I do plan on going to fishing lodge atleast once - but that may happen after few years......

I meet really good people while fishing - its refreshing to see young and old enjoying the outdoors

Hello everyone, my name is Tula  :) ! I live in the greater Vancouver area and I'm in my early twenties.

My parents are both commercial fishermen (and co-captains) up off Haida Gwaii and Prince Rupert, usually catching Halibut, Dungeness, and Spotted prawns, so I've had a ton of experience ocean fishing. However, due to travel restrictions and covid concerns I'm now learning to fish off docks, piers, and in local rivers and lakes. It's much harder than trolling in a boat, with your parents setting up your rod for you!

My biggest ever catch was a 64 pound halibut just off the coast in Prince Rupert, when I was around twelve. We ate it the same night! My dad had to use a gaff hook in the end because it was too large for the net, and help me reel it in. Aside from that I've caught some pretty huge chinook!

Hope all is well for everyone!
