The high tide on next Saturday will be around noon, meaning the fishing period will be quite good since the time between two hours before and after flood tide is usually prime time for fishing in the Tidal Fraser River.

The kids should be able to catch the following species.
  • white sturgeon
Yeah, we've just been hammering the sturgeon in years past ;)

What about that one herring?

White sturgeon have actually been biting well down there during the incoming tide lately. :o Perhaps one of our seasoned sturgeon anglers like Randog or Big Steel will huck a big bundle of worms out there and hook one for us on Saturday. ;)

The herring is actually an american shad, we've been getting the odd ones every summer.

No child is ever too young to fish!  :)
If he's over a year old and can walk, I would bring him down. Last year was the first year we went, and I seen lots of little people running around, but then again we're quite a "tall" family so maybe everyone just looks smaller...lol  :D
Weather looks promising, looking forward to Saturday!

I guess that I am one of those little people when standing next to the Buck giants. :o Everytime I see your kids, they are few inches taller than me. :-\

No one is too young for this event for sure. The arts and crafts activities, birds of prey, or just staring at the fish in the aquariums are enough to keep the really young ones entertained. :)

This Saturday is shaping up to be a very good one. I am now worried about crowding. :o Please carpool or ride a bike down people! Parking is also available in front of London's Farm, at the boat launch just down the road as well as further back around the bike park and various places along No. 2 Road.

Dogs are welcome if they don't run around or bark too much, because of the amount of kids we are expecting and we also need to keep noise to the minimum for the birds of prey.

Two DFO officers are scheduled to be at the event tomorrow from 11am to 1pm, one RCMP officer (a forum member in fact ;) ) is scheduled to attend from 1pm to 3pm. They will be happy to answer your questions regarding enforcement in the Tidal Fraser River section.

Don't worry he will be leashed, he rarely barks if at all( boxers are not known for barking) and he is trained.
