Headed out from Fort Langley Saturday around 8ish.....man couldn't believe the bitin' bugs that were out!!!!....anyway, heading up to our little area around the Stave and sent the smelts overboard....had my son and parents with me...Dad tells us all not to touch his rod as he is after a new record for himself....20 minutesd goes by and the little tapping starts on his rod...you know the tap, the one that gets the blood pumping, its a bigger fish, but how big....Dad grabs the rod....holds steady....set the hook!!!!....bam, fish on and running, next thing you know, out it comes, straight up with 2 feet clearance from tail to water, big white belly towards us!!!... after 40 plus minutesd and 10 plus long, hard runs, the fish is by the boat for the last time.... a couple of quick pics and a quick measure and he is back off to the river floor....81 inches and very fat!!!!.....
Set the rods out again, get a cold drink and sit back....not 5 minutes goes by and my sons rod goes off and he has his own battle!!! ...15 minutes later we have another fatty at 67 inches beside the boat....
Nice morning out and not another boat in site......
