Bass fishn' in Mission July 22nd, 2007
« on: July 23, 2007, 09:10:47 AM »

My friend and I headed out sunday afternoon to chuck some tubes and crankbaits.  It was totally awesome.  We each caught about 20 bass, with most in the 12 -14 in range.  But my friend (of course not me) Caught two big mothers!  I just have a pic of the biggest, it was around 20 inches!  The other big one was about 16 in.  We didn't have a scale so I dunno about weight.

We are going back for sure.

Probably some lakes there. No slow flowing muddy river in mission.  ;D

Did you fish from a boat to catch all those bass?

Email the Mayour of Mission and ask him. I have already talked to him about the fishey in both Silvermere & Hatzic, and told him that public parking and a boat launch should be included in his plans promote Mission as a tourist destination and world class fishery. He was totally unaware of these two bass fisheries 5 minutes from down town. If enough of us hound him about access I beleive we will see it.

I just parked on the side of the highway.  There are a couple of gas stations you can park at if you don't mind a bit of a walk (probably a ten minute walk).    I have only been there a few times, I don't know the area super well.  I am sure with a bit of exploring there is some good parking to be had.

Does anybody know of people getting towed when parking on the highway?

Make sure you have black/silver stuff to chuck.  They loved the black tubes with silver sparkles.

Good Luck!

Genstar has just put up a new No Trespassing sign right at the highway. They mean business.
