The water is ok for the speyflossing method they use in that spot below the Mamquam mouth. I was there last week and the guides were putting on a show. Two guys were standing way out in the river talking with their weighted flies hanging downstream for several minutes like bait. The survey volunteer guy on the beach told me about 12 fish were hooked all day by the same method. It gets easier when the fish start to pile up. Some of them are good at casting the big rods, but with all that room behind for backcasting, a spey rod has little advantage.
Spoken like someone who hasn't got a clue!!! Must have pissed you off you couldn't snag something with your baitcaster right???
Don't need to stand way out in the river the fish are close
don't use weighted flies or you'll be hung up on the bottom constantly.
12 hooked all day with that method means that method doesn't work...
backcasting room is only one reason to use the spey and has nothing to do with why you would use them up there...or very at least very little..Before you spout off any more ridiculous statements try learning your facts a little more first huh??? Look around you one here, why is it so dead??? Cause guys like you showed up!!!!
