North Thompson
« on: August 19, 2007, 06:22:38 PM »

Just got back from Clearwater 1 hr ago. Fished the North Thompson with my cuz for springs. Anchored in the boat at the mouth of the Clearwater River just tossing out these huge fst spoons and sitting back waiting not active enough for me so I tried casting my gear and floating roe to no avail. He got a 28 lber this morning. The day I got there he got a 30. Clean as hell too, I was surprised. He has spent 2 weeks chasing them, the run is just starting.  I decided to fish the Clearwater for some 2- 7 or so lb rainbows. What action. Can't remember how many fish I caught biggest being around 3 lb, lots of 1.5 -2 lbers. What a beautiful river though. Cousin took me to this  giant chute class 6 rapids incredible power behide them. Never got to fish any lakes but my uncle and cuz say 5 lb average with quite a few over 8. The family and I have decided to get out of this Vancouver Rat Race and move there, hoping for next year. Just too much that we miss down here. ;D

Nice report and it is amazing isn't it the colour some of these fresh fish are. The Jacks I take are as clean as they are in the ocean. The good part is also there is lots of them, if you time it right.

Yes I think of a move as well for the same reasons you give. ;D ;D
