Advice?
« on: August 24, 2007, 11:04:32 AM »

Today I'm going to Lafarge Lake for some trout fishing. I'm gonna be using some old Dewworms and if I run out, gonna try some spinners or flies. Any advice?

With the warm weather, the water is warm and even If you catch anything it will taste muddy. That lake gets fished out very fast due to the number of people that fish the lake right after it's stocked . Good-luck hope you get some .

Really? I thought warm wheather was good for Trout fishing. I caught nothing, not even Bullheads that I caught last time. Oh well, better luck next time then.~

Don't waste your time right now fishing there. Fish it in the fall and winter.

Sounds like I was completely wrong then. Okay, thanks! So that's why I saw so many people catching trout at Buntzen when it was winter.

Most lakes in the Lower Mainland, including Lafarge Lake, will be stocked once again starting in October with rainbow trout, therefore the fishing should pick up then. The lakes will also be less fished because the stockings coincide with the fall salmon season, so most people will be fishing for salmon instead of for hatchery raised trout.

I see! I shall await that time then. Hopefully I'll bring home Trout for dinner occasionally and reach the daily limit  ;D
