coho in tofino August 26th, 2007
« on: August 26, 2007, 02:01:10 PM »

planned to fishing halibut, but when the boat went to out sea, my son got sickness, so we decide to go back to inet for some coho, coho is abundant in that area, we got more than 10 bites in a few hours, and caught some big mackerel. Finally we kept 4 coho.

Great haul! Yeah, I imagine the water can get a bit bumpy on the outside of the Island there.

Tofino really is one of the nicest towns on the island; sometimes it's an odd mix of hardcore environmentalist hippies and young surfers and commerical resource types. But for the most part everyone seems to get along great. There's a few other towns on the coast who could take a lesson out of Tofino's book - different interest groups all sharing the same resources and not knifing each other in the bar when they meet.

I am heading up to Tofino this Sunday for 10 days.  Hope to get into coho on the fly and possibly the odd spring.  Just love it up there.  I will try and get some pix of the fish for the team.

Ferry ride over is about 2 hours to Nanaimo than another 3 hours to Tofino
