Do you need "pink" to catch a Pink.

I have often heard how a pink lure is numero uno in catching Pinks. Having caught more on everything but pink, just wondering what others think of this. Is "pink" the be all and end all in catching Pinks? Or is this more ballywack.

I've caught pinks on coho flies in salt and fresh...

I caught one on a 4 inch black rabbit strip fly today while flyfishing for springs on the fraser...

So the answer is, if they can see it, they'll probably bite it.

Cheers,
Nicole

From todays Sun fishing report:

"Always remember pink for pinks."

Here they go again. :-\ I feel empathy with the rookie who takes that advice. It may be tue sometimes but really has never worked for me.

I catch them so consistantly on pink flies/lures that I've never bothered trying other colors.

Man, pink wool, fire orange black spotted croc or chartreuse (i know i must have spelled that wrong ::)) wool has always worked for me. i have actually found that these colours work for most of the fish we get in the vedder....
