Got off work early today and decided to give it a try in pursuing my first salmon of the season. I arrived at Bronsville bar in surrey at around 11am (low tide), it shocked me to see that the parking lot was full! And as i walked to the beach, the park was a ZOO! i mean, there were about 30 fishermen casting along the beach, and a boat fishing not too far away from the beach too. Holy moly, that just boiled it for me, reminded me of my first ever pink season two years ago.
Anyways, the fishing was HOT there, guys were into fish like every 10 mins of so, a few double headers as well. The school of fish was swimming really close to the shore, as i could see the surface action like about 10-15 feets away. Half an hour into fishing, BAM, ladies and gentlemen, it is my first of the day, first of the season, caught by No. 3/8oz Koho croc on 8 lbs line and Daiwa light action rod! Hooked 5 in total and landed 3. 2 bucks and 1 chrome silver doe. All the bucks people were catching there seemed to be a little humped up, but the does were almost all chrome.... wonder why?
School of fish were coming by every so often, i caught all 3 in about an hour of time. one on the good old silver hammered fire stripe croc, two on the GREEN koho croc. No, it's not only pink the will catch Pink.
Gave a buck out to a rookie who was fishing next to me and couldn't catch any. Will smoke up the buck and steam the doe in black bean sauce and garlic. Yum yum!
