Any idea when the Springs will be arriving in the Vedder
« on: September 20, 2007, 09:53:05 PM »

Just wondering if anybody has seen or caught any spring in the Vedder?  When do they typically arrive?  My dad is planning a trip to the coast and I thought we could head out and fight a few fish ... I want to give a shot with my fly rod.

you'd need a 9 wt though to properly play those fish... I normally break them off. They'd snap my 7wt like a twig if they wanted to!

Cohos and springs are now in the river. If you are going to flyfish for the springs, bring a nine weight rod, and hang on tight.

Usually around Thanksgiving there is plenty to go around. But yes.. a bump of rain and those big beasts will start heading in. Plenty of Jacks in the lower river area though.

good luck!
