Lots of people lots of fish... Some spots, more people than fish...
Pinks are everywhere. Some like to bite, some won't take anything you throw at them. Saw a couple fly guy and a CP guy with great success. Then went to another place under the bridge. It was again more people than fish
Stand next to 2 guys under the bridge but that noise of rod ripping a couple of time per drift from one guy scares me, so I move up a bit. Saw a hole with no one fish and decide to try it. Second cast, this chrome fish came up. I can't decide if it is a jack spring or coho but since it was a hatchery fish (fin clipped), I bonked it. Packed it and asked the lady counter at parking lot and she thought it is a Jack... But I thought the head and meat looks like a coho. And later the gum and tongue color confirmed it... And just so you know, if its fin is not clipped, I would have letted it go since I wasn't sure if it is a jack spring or coho.
What do you guys/gals think?
Anyway, saw 3 guys across river had great success at hooking fish. So I went over and gave it a try in an empty slots. Figured out where the fish is and sure enough, the pinks were willing to take any offering. It was a great fun day. I think I have released many many pinks; some colored but a few chrome one. BTW, got one buck so humpy that it looked like a sailfish
I only bagged the Coho and safely released all the pinks... and if it is a coho, this will be my first.
one sad note, a father and son saw us fishing with good success... We were fish down by the grass side but on the bottom of the road. He decided to fish next to us but drift his thing right in front of us where we were fishing... what a great way to show his son how to take a spot where someone is fishing at...
