You are guaranteed a coho or two between takes. ;D

As well the script is written. ;D ;D

Vedder River water condition...
« Reply #121 on: October 15, 2007, 06:36:41 PM »

Chris

Do you have any water condition report. I checked the water level and it looks like its still going down.

Is the rain coming down heavy in Chilliwack???

Well, I ain't Chris.  But at about 2:30 the water was still decent.  I did hear that a clay slide came down and by 3 the river was quite silty... :-\  Wasn't raing that hard when I left at 3 pm.

Condition were excellent to start the day but when we returned after lunch it has silted up badly but by dark it had rounded back into shape, We were surprised to see a clay slide happen as it did not rain too much. I guess the river undercut into one of the clay slides.

Stay tuned for the video on shortfloating with The Master and Rodney to get the results of an all day trip. ;D ;D

Finished yesterday at the prison annd it had 6" of vis. With the rain overnight it'll be interesting to see how the river reacts wit the new clayslide.
The river was perfect at first light yesterday and within 10 min period around 9 am viability went to zero. Grey clay but was silty green by the end of the day at the prison run.

As I did the guiding yesterday  ;D it was The Master turn today and he took me to his hot spot, that of course was after breaky at Cookies. ;D ;D

When we arrived at the river we were pleased to see it was very fishable. Nick is into a nice wild coho right away but things were very slow after that as we pounded it for nearly 3 hours, well Nick pounded it as I took a break and took pictures and got a nice one of a dipper. Forgot to add yesterday I got a picture of a nice black bear, on the other side of the river. ;D ;D
We then moved down to the TC run and we ran into Lew and Gwyn who had fished it without much success.

After a gab session I went above the TC and Nick and Lew to it.

After 30 minutes I went to the TC also, just in time to see Nick landing a nice hatchery coho. ;D

I worked my way down to join him and I had my only two chances of the day and I capitalized on them  ;D with two good sized chinook jacks. Fish were rolling around us and Nick missed a few before we left at 1.

The river was still perfect when we left but the rain has started up once again. :-\

I hope it holds for tomorrow as it is another day out on the flow. ;D ;D

Well I just saw the weather alert and they are calling for winds upto 90 km/h and rain fall upto 50mm. I guess it will be a good day for me to tie up flies instead of fishing.

No heavy rain today at this time or fish for me or Gwyn as we went and explored some new water. ::)

When we went to where we should have gone, well Rodney will report that. ;D

Conditions excellent at this time. Tomorrow???

Hard to say how it'll look, hey Chris?

Darn, I've taken the day off work tomorrow...  I hate having it up in the air like this.  If it chocolate milk, I'd rather save my day off until later.
