I hit the lower Fraser (Richmond/Steveston) for Coho and/or Chum a little before and after high tide. Saw a couple jump way out in the middle, and I also saw some kind of Salmon roll closer to shore; but for the life of me I couldn't catch any. I did catch my first ever Pikeminnow though which was unexpected. I through it back in the river to live another day, but I also noticed people who were fishing of a long dock that were keeping the Pikeminnows they were catching (in fact I think they were targetting them). Are Pikeminnows good to eat? I was using Roe, and I also through a few spoons and spinners to keep it interesting. The fish are definitely rolling through.
I'll be back out there tomorrow as I've got lots of learning to do on how to fish the lower Fraser (seems like it might be a little easier if I had a boat)!
