Nice meeting you today fishiotherapist. Like I said, this was my first time fishing the Stave River in over two years. We usually avoid fishing it because of the crowd, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it very tolerable today.
Lots of chum salmon rolling, found a few spots that look promising for coho salmon later on this season too.
Today was Iwan's last outing before his flight back to UK on Saturday, and he sure finished it off with a bang by landing the only coho salmon of our group. Luke lost one coho, and landed a chum salmon. I, after 14 trips this month, finally haven't hooked a coho during an outing for once.
Iwan's fish, a hatchery buck around 10lb.
In total we fished three days during his stay, he spent just under 100 dollars on fishing licenses and the salmon stamp, and it has been his best experience out of all the fishing trips here so far, according to him.
While wandering around, I came across this note on a tree. I assume this was posted by a local resident. Lets respect their request by keeping the area clean. Luke and I picked up a disgusting amount of fishing line in the marsh this afternoon. It just never ended. The more we picked up, the more we found.
The weather also couldn't be any better, for a late October day.
