How long do we have?
« on: November 06, 2007, 04:00:49 PM »

How long will there be coho in the Vedder?
A month ago a chap passed by and told me I was the only one he saw catch coho because the season was pretty much over.
Since then I've been catching them every week.
Any experts on this?

im not the best coho fishermen but they can be had till late november early december. I remember last year i was steelhead fishing late december and the hatchery was still full of coho some just turning red.

In the old day we caught them in the Vedder right up to Christmas. I remember that as I caught my first steelhead in the Vedder then, while fishing for coho. ;D

This year maybe you will get them through November but you will have to work for them. The good part there will not be many out there fishing and who knows you may get that first taste of Iron action. Rumours start to fly anytime soon that one has been hooked. ::) They are usually started by the tackle shops to keep the business gong, in the lull between the salmon and steelhead season. ;D ;D

They do for a guy that fishes the lower mainland 90 percent of year. It's sad isn't it. :( ;)
